Initial Visit
Your first treatment visit at our office will consist of filling out paperwork as it pertains to your medical condition, your history and the type of injury sustained. We will assist you to the best of our ability as it pertains to your injury in question.
Consultation
Dr. Shaw and staff will personally sit down to discuss your condition and answer all questions concerning your underlying disorder pertaining to your initial treatment visit. During this initial consultation, the doctor will address all of your concerns and questions concerning your underlying health care disorder. The purpose of the consultation is to address any questions or concerns regarding your initial visit.
Physical Examination
The Physical examination will consist of various chiropractic/orthopedic/neurological testing to determine the extent of your underlying injury. This will enable Dr. Shaw to accurately diagnose your condition and to determine what type of tests and/or treatment will be necessary to address those injuries.
X-rays
If x-rays are required, the doctor will write a script outlining the specific tests to be provided as well as any other additional testing such as MRI’s, CT scans, etc. The doctor utilizes outpatient facilities that are approved by your insurance company.
Same Day Treatment
Depending upon the type of injury and/or it's severity, in most cases, same day treatment is provided. Once the consultation and physical examination have been completed, various forms of therapy and/or adjustments can be provided at that time.
Follow Up Care
Future treatments are generally recommended subsequently following the examination and initial treatment. A plan of care is often recommended to outline the specific care and treatment rendered for each and every individual patient. The doctor will explain the examination findings as well as addressing any concerns regarding the condition and treatment that will be provided. Your prognosis will be properly explained as it pertains to any extended care that may be necessary regarding the condition/injuries that have been sustained. Dr. Shaw will take all the necessary time to address any concerns that you have during this period of time.
