Tile Maintenance
- Ensure grout is sealed properly to prevent staining.
- Use protective mats at entrances and exits to absorb soil and grime.
- Prevent scratching by using pad protectors under furniture legs.
Vacuuming/Mopping
- Remove dirt with a broom or dust mop.
- Use a damp microfiber mop to remove small particles that sweeping may have missed.
- Change or clean the mop head regularly.
- Don’t soak tile with water or liquid cleaners, as it may shorten sealant life and promote mildew.
- Don’t use ammonia or acid-based cleaners, or oils, waxes, or polishes on your tile floor.
Spot/Spill Removal
- Quickly wipe up spill with a clean cloth or towel.
- Use warm water or appropriate cleaner to remove residual spots.
- Do not saturate your tile floor with water or liquid cleaner as it may promote mold/mildew in grout joints.
- Some cleaning products may require grout to be resealed. Check product instructions carefully!
Overall Tile Cleaning
- To thoroughly clean tile floors, use warm water, a mild detergent, or stone soap to mop the area.
- Refinishing tile surfaces should only be done by a certified professional.
